RSAW Plas Glyn Y Weddw: Tour and talk

Join us for a tour of the existing Grade II* listed art gallery and new caf茅 and hear from Mark Wray Architects, Sanderson Sculptures and Fold Engineering on the design process and creative approach.

Located in the idyllic setting of Llanbedrog, the Caf茅 at Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw is a shell inspired intervention to the oldest art gallery in Wales creating an interesting transition between new and old. The centre is housed in a Grade II* listed mansion house and is a lively, multi-faceted venue encompassing gallery, museum, performance venue, and event space.

The scheme by Mark Wray Architects and sculptor Matthew Sanderson has recently been awarded the RSAW Welsh Architecture Client of the Year Award and shortlisted for The Stephen Lawrence Prize 2024.

Accessibility

The main entrance is at the front of the building but there are steps leading to it from the road. There are two wheelchair accessible entrances to the back of the building, the door leading to the rear of the cafe is an automatic one, please press to open button on your right.

The ground floor of the Plas including the cafe are on the same level, and as a result is suitable for wheelchair users.

A lift is available for access to the first floor of the gallery, and all rooms/exhibition spaces on the first floor are suitable for wheelchair users.

Assistance dogs are welcome in the gallery, shop, and cafe.
