Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara co-founded Dublin-based in 1978. Grafton Architects have since built up an impressive portfolio of projects and achieved global recognition for their work, becoming role models for architects and students across the world with their humble and humane approach to architecture.

Key projects include the University of Limerick Medical School, which was shortlisted for the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Stirling Prize in 2013, and the multi-award winning new building for Lima’s specialist engineering university (UTEC) in Peru, completed in 2015.

Currently, Grafton Architects are working on projects at two London universities: a Town House for Kingston University London, and the Marshall Building for LSE. Directors Yvonne and Shelley have also taught and lectured at a number of the world’s most celebrated universities, including GSD Harvard, Yale University, University College Dublin and Accademia d’Archittettura, Mendrisio.

In 2018, Yvonne and Shelley curated the Venice Architecture Biennale with the theme of ‘Freespace’, and an emphasis on humanity and generosity – principles which run throughout their own practice.

The evening will begin with a lecture by Grafton Architects, followed by an audience Q&A chaired by Hugh Campbell, Professor or Architecture at University College Dublin.
