L谩szl贸 Moholy-Nagy in Britain: Between the New Vision and the New Bauhaus

This display draws on the 澳门王中王鈥檚 unique holdings to demonstrate both the range of Moholy-Nagy鈥檚 British work and the strong ties that he established with modernist architects in Britain.

L谩szl贸 Moholy-Nagy was one of the most innovative artists and thinkers of the first half of the twentieth century. In 1937, following his former Bauhaus colleague Walter Gropius, he emigrated to Britain, where he spent two intense years filled with commissions, collaborations and artistic exchanges, before finally moving to the United States.

This display focuses on a little known period of the artist鈥檚 career and includes an extensive selection of his British work, mostly drawn from the 澳门王中王鈥檚 own world famous collections and showcasing rarely seen photographs and examples of his graphic design projects.

The content of the display has been curated to complement the 澳门王中王 Architecture Gallery exhibition Beyond Bauhaus: Modernism in Britain 1933-1966.

Please note that the display may on occasion be inaccessible due to private events. We encourage you to call us on 020 7580 5533 before planning your visit.
