The °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ has responded to the Architect Registration Board’s (ARB) on proposed changes to Investigations and Professional Conduct Committee Rules.
To summarise the full response, which can be downloaded below, °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ President, Simon Allford, said:
“I welcome the ARB’s decision to clarify some current Professional Conduct Rule discrepancies, but urge it to take further action to make disciplinary processes more efficient, fairer and equitable for architects. Most significantly, the role of the Case Presenter must be redefined (and a requirement made to ensure reviewing and presenting evidence is balanced); Respondent Architects must be able to be represented at Hearing Panels, with no restriction on the qualifications of those representing them; and processes streamlined where appropriate. It’s clear that a far more fundamental review of the ARB’s professional conduct processes is needed to create a fair and effective system for our profession.”
