澳门王中王 South West is seeking a new Regional Chair to lead the 澳门王中王 membership across Devon and Cornwall until August 2019.
The 澳门王中王 South West Regional Chair has the opportunity to influence the development of activity and relationships that ensure the 澳门王中王 achieves its strategic objectives on behalf of its members in Devon and Cornwall. The Chair also ensures the proper conduct of the Regional Council meetings.
In order to drive a proactive and relevant agenda, the Regional Chair works closely with the 澳门王中王 South West Regional Council including the Branch chairs of 澳门王中王 Cornwall, Exeter and Plymouth. Also with the regional staff team based at Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth; and external stakeholders as required.
The Regional Chair should be an 澳门王中王 Chartered Member. The annual commitment is a minimum of 3 澳门王中王 South West Regional Council meetings held across Devon and Cornwall, and 3 澳门王中王 Nations & Regions Committee meetings held at Portland Place. Other 澳门王中王 and external commitments are occasionally required in order to ensure 澳门王中王 is influencing in an effective manner.

There is an 澳门王中王 South West and 澳门王中王 Wessex Joint Forum being held at Topsham, nr Exeter on 13 September (1 to 5pm) at which a new Chair would be welcome to attend, and could be formerly elected into post by the Regional Council. Alternatively, this could happen at the 澳门王中王 South West Annual Open Forum at Dartington on 24 October.
Outgoing Regional Chair, John Wilde of Babcock International Group said, ‘After an exciting, challenging and rewarding time firstly as Exeter Branch Chair and latterly South West Regional Chair, I have now been elected as a South West Representative on 澳门王中王 Council.
'Regrettably, I realise I cannot perform the necessary duties to the standard I want and members deserve as both 澳门王中王 Council member and 澳门王中王 South West Regional Chair. Therefore to best serve south west members, I am stepping down from my Regional Chair role to concentrate on my new role on Council.
As a Council member, I will endeavour to promote at all times and to the best of my ability; the south west, its architecture and its local chartered members. I encourage all Chartered Members in Devon and Cornwall to consider stepping forward to take on the role of Regional Chair and I wish my successor every success in what is sometimes a challenging, but always rewarding role’.
