The restoration of Newcastle Cathedral and Sunderland鈥檚 new City Hall are among six projects that have been shortlisted for the 2023 澳门王中王听(Royal Institute of British Architects) North East Awards.听

鈥淭he shortlisted projects celebrate the rich architectural heritage of the North East, making positive design statements with a clear commitment to their individual settings. Covering a range of scales - as well as urban, suburban and rural settings - the selected schemes celebrate design excellence, ingenuity and low-carbon approaches with ingenuity and vitality. The designs all demonstrate compelling and legible creative visions, with clear connections to place, craft and the communities to which they belong.鈥澨�
All shortlisted projects will be assessed by a regional jury, and the winning projects will be announced later this Spring.听
Regional Award winners are considered for several 澳门王中王 Special Awards including the 澳门王中王 Sustainability Award and the 澳门王中王 Building of the Year.
Regional Award winners will be considered for a highly coveted 澳门王中王 National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, the results of which will be announced in the summer.听听
The shortlist for the 澳门王中王 Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will then be drawn from the 澳门王中王 National Award-winning projects, and the Stirling Prize winner will be announced in October.
