Seven projects shortlisted for the 澳门王中王 Yorkshire Awards 2024

A medieval tower in York, farmers market and a Catterick Racecourse stand are among seven projects shortlisted for the 澳门王中王 Yorkshire Awards 2024.

The revival of an 11th century medieval tower in York, a stand at Catterick Racecourse, and farmers market are among seven projects shortlisted for the 澳门王中王 (Royal Institute of British Architects) Yorkshire Awards 2024.

The projects that have been shortlisted are:

  • Sort Trae, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, by & 听

澳门王中王 Yorkshire Jury Chair Lucy Plumridge, Associate Director of , said:

鈥淭he range of schemes submitted for the 澳门王中王 Yorkshire Awards demonstrate the growing trend of retrofit and a sustainability-first approach to design. 听

鈥淲e commend these practices for their innovative designs, which reflect the social and economic impact of reinventing existing buildings.听

鈥淔rom the radical restoration of Clifford鈥檚 Tower which unlocks rooms that have been inaccessible for over 300 years, to a sustainable farmers market building which sensitively connects to the surrounding Crimple Valley and habitats, as well as a concert hall upgrade which enriches a town hall鈥檚 cultural offering, there is a fantastic breadth of architecture across the region.鈥澨

The 澳门王中王 Regional Awards shortlists for 2024 will be announced from 8 to 23 February. Check back throughout this period for shortlist publications.

All projects shortlisted for 澳门王中王 Regional Awards will be visited by a regional jury, and the winning projects will be announced later this spring.

The winners will then be considered for several 澳门王中王 Special Awards, including the 澳门王中王 Sustainability Award () and 澳门王中王 Building of the Year (), before being considered for a highly coveted 澳门王中王 National Award, which will be announced in summer.

The shortlist for the 澳门王中王 Stirling Prize 鈥 the UK鈥檚 best new building 鈥 will be drawn from the 澳门王中王 National Award-winning projects, and announced in September. The Stirling Prize winner will be announced in October.听
