°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ West Midlands Director, Rebecca Smith, welcomed the news:

"This year’s °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ West Midlands shortlist range from a £91,000 house extension to a £182 million facility for Jaguar Land Rover. It is fantastic see such diversity in a shortlist that celebrates the great architecture within the West Midlands. As an architect myself, I was very impressed with the quality of the submissions from across the region and it was a very tough decision for the judges to form the shortlist of 11 projects.

"It is encouraging to see the high standard of architecture across so many sectors and I congratulate the architects, clients and wider teams involved in creating these projects which serve to enrich our communities."

Regional Award winners will be considered for a highly coveted °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence. The shortlist for the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Stirling Prize, the best new building of the year, will be drawn from the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ National Award-winning buildings and the Stirling Prize winner will be announced after this.
