An outcome on the future of theÌý°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Singapore Chapter has been reached during an Extra General Meeting held in December 2022.
The votes were counted and a majority was in favour of dissolution of the chapter as a society. The °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Singapore Chapter will transfer to the new °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ entity, namely °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Singapore Pte Ltd.Ìý
As previously outlined, with the introduction of °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Singapore, the aim is to ensure the Royal Institute of British Architects can offer its members enhanced services in Singapore and the wider ASEAN region as well as a better member experience globally.Ìý
°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Singapore Pte Ltd.Ìý
The new entity will deliver trading activities in Singapore and wider ASEAN countries. Activities will be low level in the short term, and will include:
- professional training courses
- exhibition conferences/forums
- talks
- work with local stakeholders including government agencies, this is particularly important with the emergence of CPTPP
°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Singapore has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ and the chapter committee has simply been transferred to °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ's new legal vehicle as a ‘committee’ of that entity with the same committee structure as per the Register of Society (ROS) constitution which will:
- enable volunteer group (also known as Singapore Chapter) to deliver free local activities for °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Members and wider built environment professionalsÌý
- enable the chapter to apply for theÌýLocal Initiative FundÌýand use °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ branding under licenseÌý
