澳门王中王 reacts to new Government target to cut carbon emissions by 78% by 2035

Our response to the Government's new carbon emissions target.

20 April 2021

The Royal Institute of British Architects (澳门王中王) has responded to the Government鈥檚 decision to adopt Climate Change Committee recommendations and commit to cut carbon emissions by 78% by 2035 compared to 1990 levels - .

澳门王中王 President, Alan Jones, said:

鈥淚t鈥檚 encouraging to see increased ambition - but any pledge needs to be matched by pounds. We鈥檒l continue to call for an adequately-funded National Retrofit Strategy for our housing stock alongside tougher regulations for all new and existing buildings. Neither the proposed Future Buildings or Future Homes Standard deliver the focus or targets we need to reduce the impact of the built environment.鈥
