"MIPIM is back. Sunshine is on the Croisette and there鈥檚 a full house at the conference.
This morning I popped into the London Stand, which has the amazing London model back, to see the 澳门王中王 team. All good.
Then to the Newcastle stand to represent 澳门王中王 on a debate on the 15 minute city. Many of you will remember , which I chaired. The debate with Erin Peart, chair of RICS North East Board, and Jonathan Seebacher, Ryder Architecture, was lively. I think this sustainable, healthy idea is attractive and has legs. Just need some planning reform to enable it.
And back to the 澳门王中王 stand to meet the team and the showcased architects before the official opening.
There is a great atmosphere here. Why don鈥檛 you join us next year?"

"We are 36 hours in and I am enjoying the sunbathed exhaustion that is MIPIM. From landing, I went straight to the Columba D'or to enjoy dinner surrounded by the works of the great artists of the 20th century. Unlike their successors - the savvy artists of the 21st century - these young tyros exchanged their work for wine and food - a lesson for us architects.
Next morning, with a horde of architects and clients in tow, we visited Maison Boulle. This incredible residence of Jo and Tom Bloxham is an essay in both their architect Antti Lovag's pursuit of an idea (he is also buried on site) and the need for extraordinary patrons.
Today I have been meeting the practices that have joined 澳门王中王 at the London Stand - a great opportunity for practices of all scales to engage with each other and meet new patrons. I met national journalists too, who were interested in carbon, the Marble Arch inquiry, and more. I highlighted that the race to net zero is an opportunity for architecture."

"Up with the lark (well, sort of) to meet 澳门王中王 Chartered Members on our stand along with President Simon Allford and our new Chief Executive Valerie Vaughan-Dick. I was struck by the exciting young practices participating and their terrific work.
Then we went to an auditorium where Valerie was talking about 鈥淎 safer more equitable sustainable built environment鈥. Her back story is very moving. She talked about how her education in inequality came from her father telling her how Caribbean immigrants were shut out of rental accommodation by racism and had to buy their own homes to establish themselves. Wonderful to have her on board as 澳门王中王 continues its work to create a fairer built environment for people and the planet.
Lunch at a pavement cafe with my daughters and business partners Maxine and Frankie. Great to be able to represent our practice Studio Pringle as well as 澳门王中王 at the conference.
A great day was well spent talking about architecture, societal issues, and the economy."

"This was my first MIPIM.
The President, Chair of Trustees, and I presented at a number of panel events, and I had the opportunity to speak on the main stage on priorities for 澳门王中王 around safety, training, diversity, and climate change.
I found MIPIM a good way to showcase the work of 澳门王中王, the creativity and expertise of our chartered practices, and to interact with members. Our team attending engaged in new opportunities that we could pursue to benefit members, as well as having significant meetings with international organisations, promoting collaboration across the built environment.
This was a great opportunity to learn, build on existing partnerships, and to share experiences and information."
