Meet the 澳门王中王 House of the Year 2024 jury

Learn about which expert jury members have been selected by the Royal Institute of British Architects to judge the 澳门王中王 House of the Year 2024.

Following the announcement of the 澳门王中王 House of the Year 2024 shortlist, meet the jury who will visit the six shortlisted projects, and decide the winner next month.

Je Ahn (Chair)

Je Ahn is the Founding Director of Studio Weave. As an architect, Je is equally devoted to the social significance of architecture and the technical accuracy with which it is executed. Je has overseen all projects since Studio Weave鈥檚 inception. Je has designed and led projects ranging from large-scale housing schemes to civic infrastructure, schools, heritage, cultural, public realm and place-making strategies.听听

Studio Weave鈥檚 diverse portfolio of earlier projects stem from Je鈥檚 consistent curiosity and commitment to working with people, understanding places and bringing his technical expertise to bear on complex problems. His work has been recognised nationally and internationally by awards and publications - including AJ 40 under 40 and numerous AJ, Civic Trust and 澳门王中王 Awards.

Ellie Stathaki

Ellie Stathaki is the Architecture & Environment Director at Wallpaper*. She trained as an architect at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and studied architectural history at the Bartlett in London. Now an established journalist, she has been a member of the Wallpaper* team since 2006, visiting buildings across the globe and interviewing leading architects such as Tadao Ando and Rem Koolhaas.听听

Ellie has also taken part in judging panels, moderated events, curated shows and contributed in books, such as The Contemporary House (Thames & Hudson, 2018), Glenn Sestig Architecture Diary (2020) and House London (2022).听听听

Liz Tatarintseva

Liz Tatarintseva is the co-founder of ao-ft, a London based architecture office that focuses on crafting buildings for the well-being of its inhabitants through the use of renewable materials. Liz studied at the Architectural Association and worked at Gianni Botsford Architects and AL_A before setting up ao-ft with Zach Fluker in 2017. 听

Her work and research into urban housing constructed from timber resulted in the development of Spruce House and Studio, an infill house built in Cross Laminated Timber. Conceived as a prototype for sustainable housing, the project received a 澳门王中王 National Award, Wood Award and NLA Housing Award. Further to her work within the practice, Liz regularly contributes to teaching and reviewing student work at UCL The Bartlett and Cardiff University.听

Caspar Rodgers

Caspar is the co-founder and director of alma-nac, a London-based, award-winning architecture practice with a wide-ranging portfolio spanning education, residential, commercial, and arts sectors. Caspar has diverse project experience working at a variety of scales, from delivering district heating centres and one-off houses to custom furniture and design guides.听

Caspar was included in the Architect Journal鈥檚 40 Under 40, has acted as a guest editor for AD Magazine and currently sits as a member of the Barnet Quality Review Panel. Through alma-nac, his work has won several awards, including two AJ Retrofit Awards (2018, 2021), an 澳门王中王 Regional and National Award, and NLA鈥檚 Don鈥檛 Move, Improve Award. Alma-nac is a certified B-Corp.
