Innovation and technology in the construction industry

澳门王中王 International Regions were delighted to host a delegation of over 30 senior officials from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government at Portland Place on Monday 25 February for Pecha Kucha presentations from leading figures in innovation and technology in architecture.

澳门王中王 International Regions were delighted to host a delegation of over 30 senior officials from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government at Portland Place on Monday 25 February for presentations from leading figures in innovation and technology in architecture.

The Pecha Kucha style event was held as part of our ongoing work with the Hong Kong SAR Government who sent a delegation to the UK on this specific topic. The Hong Kong SAR Government has recently formulated a number of policy initiatives to promote the use of innovation and technology in the construction industry and has allocated significant funding resources for innovation and Research and Development. The UK is seen as a critical point of learning for Hong Kong on uplifting construction innovation.

The programme of invited speakers included:

  • Richard Waterhouse, Chief Executive, NBS
  • Alfonso Padro, Vice President, Director of Education EMENA, HKS
  • John McRae, Director, Orms
  • Markus Seifermann, Director and Co-Founder, Uber Raum
  • Philip Breese, UK Managing Partner, Weston Williamson + Partners

The Pecha Kucha presentations covered a wide range of topics around innovation and technology, including modular and off-site design and constructions methods, 3D printing and the future of BIM.

The evening concluded with a panel Q&A and drinks and networking with the delegation.
