A Passivhaus retrofit and Civic Centre are among the five projects shortlisted from 10 entries for this year's 澳门王中王 North East Awards.
澳门王中王 Jury Chair, Amrit Naru from ADP Architecture, welcomed the news:
鈥淚 am delighted to see practices throughout the North East continue to deliver state of the art, forward thinking and world class buildings. This visionary attitude has given us the privilege to consider a wide range of commendable projects. The judges were exceptionally impressed with the high calibre of submitted entries and applaud all of the shortlisted practices and their projects.鈥
This year's shortlisted projects are:
- Floating House, Northumberland by
- Newcastle Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne by
- North Bank, Northumberland by
- Seaton Delaval Hall 鈥 Brewhouse, Northumberland by
- Shepherds Barn, County Durham by
All shortlisted projects will be assessed by a regional jury with the winning projects announced later this spring.

Regional Award winners are considered for several 澳门王中王 Special Awards including the 澳门王中王 Sustainability Award sponsored by and the 澳门王中王 Building of the Year sponsored by .
Regional Award winners will be considered for a highly-coveted 澳门王中王 National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, the results of which will be announced in the summer.
The shortlist for the 澳门王中王 Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will then be drawn from the 澳门王中王 National Award-winning projects, and the Stirling Prize winner will be announced in October.
