A Passivhaus, university buildings and a company headquarters are among the six buildings which have been shortlisted for this year鈥檚 澳门王中王 North East Awards.
澳门王中王 North East Regional Director, Amanda Khan, welcomed the news:
鈥淭he North East region continues to play host to a remarkable array of carefully crafted buildings. I congratulate all practices who have been shortlisted in this competitive process. We received a high standard of entries from a range of national and international practices. It鈥檚 great to see so many North East-based practices in the running, representing the wealth of talent that we have in our region.鈥�
The six projects that have been shortlisted are:
- Lower Mountjoy Teaching and Learning Centre,
- Oak Tree Passivhaus, Shawm with
- The BIS, Whitby Street Studios,
- Teesside University Student Life Building,
- Tombola House,
- The Beam,
This year's awards sponsors for special awards include for the Sustainability Award, for the Project Architect of the Year and Emerging Architect of the Year award.
Due to ongoing public health concerns, judging for the 2020 澳门王中王 UK Awards was postponed to 2021. The 2021 澳门王中王 UK Awards (including Regional, National and the 澳门王中王 Stirling Prize) will be selected from the shortlist for the 2020 澳门王中王 Regional, RSUA, RIAS, and RSAW Awards.
Regional Award winners will be considered for a highly coveted 澳门王中王 National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence. The shortlist for the 澳门王中王 Stirling Prize, the best new building of the year, will be drawn from the 澳门王中王 National Award-winning buildings and the Stirling Prize winner will be announced after this.
