Programme highlights for the 2024 London Festival of Architecture at 澳门王中王 include the newly opened exhibition, Raise the Roof: Building for change. Exploring the narratives and attitudes embedded within the fabric of 澳门王中王’s 66 Portland Place, the exhibition seeks to unpack themes such as gender, race and imperialism through a series of new and exciting creative works by artists and designers Esi Eshun, Thandi Loewenson, Giles Tettey Nartey and Arinjoy Sen who respond to the complex narratives within specific interior features of 66 Portland Place – the Jarvis Mural and Florence Hall Dominion Screen.
澳门王中王 Late also returns for 2024, with a unique programme for Raise the Roof. Across the evening, enjoy curator tours, talks and artist workshops to reimagine 66 Portland Place; enjoy a series of film screenings investigating themes from the exhibition in the Jarvis Hall; learn about Royal Gold Medallist Lesley Lokko’s inspiring career in a display on the second floor practice space; and explore the multiple floors of 66 Portland Place as djs bring the building to life with music from across the globe.
Enjoy 澳门王中王’s London Festival of Architecture programme beyond 66 Portland Place too: join photographer and educator Anthony Palmer for a walking tour to learn about the reimagining and the recent architectural interventions transforming the Leaway. Dramatically transformed over a time of great change for East London, the Leaway now provides a sustainable, continuous walking and cycling route connecting the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to the Royal Docks and the River Thames.
