​​°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Council Elections 2018

The Royal Institute of British Architects (°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ) has today (9 August) announced the results of the Presidential and Council elections 2018. All appointments announced today will commence on 1 September 2018.

Members were elected using the Single Transferable Vote. The candidates who reached the required quota and were therefore elected are:

°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Presidency 2018 - 2021

The successful candidate will take up office as President Elect for the 2018 session, and will then serve as °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ President for a two-year term beginning on 1 September 2019.

°ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Council

Nationally Elected, two seats

The successful candidates to serve on the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Council for a three-year term beginning on 1 September 2018.

Elected:

Regionally Elected

The successful candidates to serve on the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Council for a three-year term beginning on 1 September 2018 as Regionally Elected members.

Elected:

The following chartered members take uncontested seats as Regional Council Members:

West Midlands seat remains vacant for the 2018 – 2019 Council session.

Internationally Elected

Europe (excluding UK), one seat

The successful candidates to serve on the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Council for a two-year term beginning on 1 September 2018.

Elected:

The °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ is governed by the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Council, elected from among the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ membership, the majority of whom are chartered architects.

Council passes down detailed responsibility to the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ Board and main committees. Chaired by the President, Council meets four times annually and is ultimately responsible for the conduct and development of the Institute.

Members of Council are Charity Trustees of the °ÄÃÅÍõÖÐÍõ. Please consult the Guidance Note for Charity Trustees.
